Ranikhet is a mountain town located in Uttarakhand state of India which is also a famous Hill station destination. The name Ranikhet is taken from a local folk tale, that folk tale describes a Katyuri king who won the heart of his queen at this place and made his residence at this place, but no palace exists here. After that, for the first time in 1868, it was chosen as a place to house British soldiers, and a year later, compensation was started to be taken from the farmers of Sarn, Kotli, and Tana and Chavani was built with the money. During the British era, this place was proposed as the summer headquarters of British India.
