Mussoorie : Established by the British in 1823, Mussoorie still bears a distinct colonial charm, evident in its architecture — from historic churches and libraries to heritage hotels and former summer palaces. On clear days, visitors are treated to spectacular views of the lush Doon Valley below and the majestic, snow-capped Himalayan peaks in the distance. The town’s cooler climate and crisp mountain air provide a refreshing escape from the heat of the plains, especially during the summer months. Central Mussoorie comprises two main hubs: Gandhi Chowk (also known as Library Bazaar) on the western end, and Picture Palace on the eastern end.
